Kasco C-20
Time and Temperature De-Icer Control
Kasco
Marine's new Model C-20 Time and Temperature De-Icer Control is
exclusively designed and engineered for outdoor user to operate your
Kasco De-Icer with maximum energy conservation. As a general
guideline most people will be able to reduce operation time and energy
consumption by 50-66%. Users in more severe conditions, such as the
Great Lakes, will see less savings. Your Kasco De-Icer will only
operate when both the timer and thermostat are activated. The C-20
controls when and for hw long your de-icer will operate when
temperatures demand.
Important: The C-20 is designed to operate only one Kasco
De-Icer. Daily observation is required for all de-icing installations.
Please note:Under certain conditions
no ice control device can prevent damage from ice movement caused by wind
or current, or from extremely cold weather causing ice to form all the way
to the bottom and in some cases where bottom water temperature is the same
as ice. Effective de-icing can also be retarded when used in extremely
shallow conditions.
Universal Dock Mount
Kasco's
heavy duty dock or piling mount is made from corrosion protected steel
and stainless steel. This optional de-icer mounting system can be fitted
to either the Kasco F2400 or F3400 models.
The
de-icer unit may be extended down from the surface mounting bracket to a
maximum length of 10 feet. Due to shipping limitations, users must
supply their own 1" pipe extensions.
Flotation Unit
Kasco
offers an exclusive, arctic proven flotation kit. The easy-to-assemble
kit consists of stainless steel components and a flotation billet.
The
de-icer unit is mounted at an angle just below the flotation billet.
Angle operation of de-icer produces an elongated pattern of agitated
water and is well-suited for shallow water operation. F2400 or F3400
models may be used.
Other Accessories
Power Cables: Replacement
power cables with 16 gauge wire are available in 25 or 50 foot lengths.
Power cables are also available with 14 gauge wire in 75 or 100 foot
lengths. Exterior water-tight connection allows easy on-the-spot
replacement.

Performance Propellers: Kasco's high performance, energy efficient
propellers are specially pitched for maximum thrust and minimum power
usage. Damaged propellers must be replaced to maintain de-icer
performance. Replacement orders must specify the model F3400 or the
F2400 propellers.
Zinc Anode:
Custom engineered zinc anodes are fitted to the propeller shaft of all
Kasco De-Icers to prevent electrolysis damage to the unit. Anodes must
be periodically inspected and replaced when significant deterioration
has occurred. Replacement anodes are available from all dealers.
Twist Lock Plug:
Optional 30 AMP twist lock plugs are offered by Kasco for their
electrical power cable. Marinas requiring twist lock plugs may special
order their new De-Icers from their local dealer.
